Take a Community-led Approach to Achieve Government Objectives
In 2017 Inspiring Communities spent a considerable amount of time creating a document to share our purpose, our guiding principles and our work to incoming ministers. Two years on, and as we once again prepare as a nation to head into an election process, this document is still highly relevant and will be for some time to come.
We have taken care to outline and substantiate the benefits of Community-Led Development and why it’s of critical importance that local and national government agencies are involved in projects in all communities.
The government needs to be prepared to put local solutions advocated by local communities more at the centre. This means supporting communities to decide what solutions will work best for them, and sharing power and decision making.
