To promote community-led development (CLD) across the motu, we provide a diverse range of CLD learning and connecting opportunities.

Explore what’s available to help you support and strengthen your locally-led outcomes and projects. Let’s continue to develop our capacity, share, and stay connected in 2024.

>Online Learning Module

Looking for an introductory or refresher course on community-led development? CLD 101 provides a comprehensive overview of the principles, terminology and practices of community-led development. Accessible online, you can complete it at your own pace and in your own space.

  • Online, self-paced learning module
  • 40 lessons, 1 hour of video content
  • 4-5 hours to complete

>CLD Skills Workshops

Our skills-based workshops are designed to strengthen your community-led practices and build local connections, in a dynamic group environment.

The workshops are held around Aotearoa, or online for groups or teams. Each workshop is led by one of our skilled facilitators working across a variety of community-led projects.

>Community Building Blocks

A free online 90-minute group session that helps you connect with others in the community-led development (CLD) space, facilitated by one of the Inspiring Communities’ team members. Each session will have a different topic, based around a specific CLD need, framework, tool or resource – but every session is designed to help you explore community-focused ways of working collaboratively and develop strategies to respond to current challenges and opportunities in your work.

>Child Rich Communities Online Kōrero

Our online kōrero are not your standard webinar; they enable connection and collaborative learning with people who are working in grass roots child-rich community-led ways, as well as those who are working in the wider child and youth wellbeing space. These free 90 minute sessions are opportunity to gain insights, network with like-minded people, and be part of a movement towards a brighter future led by our youth.

>Qualification

Earn a community-led development micro-credential in CLD facilitation from Otago Polytechnic, in partnership with Inspiring Communities. This is a self-directed, self-paced learning experience, but the monthly online sessions are a facilitated learning group that allows you to work alongside others who are completing this qualification.

This “mini” qualification validates that you have the competencies to plan and facilitate community-led development processes, hui, meetings and workshops – for a diverse range of groups – and helps strengthen your CLD practice.
