Anna Parker
Anna is a community development and engagement practitioner with more than 25 years of experience supporting grassroots initiatives. She has worked alongside indigenous women leaders in Bougainville and helped bring community-led visions like Dunedin’s Valley Project to life.
Grounded in social justice, Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and cultural responsiveness, Anna focuses on building real relationships and encouraging collaboration. Facilitation is one of her strengths—she creates safe, inclusive spaces where voices are heard, ideas shared, and collective action sparked. Whether facilitating community workshops or leading projects, she aims to inspire connection and shared purpose.
As Director of Mātāwai Associates, Anna supports Otago organisations to think strategically, grow their impact, and do their mahi with purpose. Originally from Ōtautahi/Christchurch, she has called Ōtepoti/Dunedin home for almost 20 years. Her work is driven by a passion for nurturing resilient, connected communities where everyone can thrive and lead.
